Planning your perfect trip to the Walt Disney World Resorts and theme parks can be stressful. Some might even start the planning process and give up on their trip before they're even through the planning process; however, most would agree that, once you get to Walt Disney World, the trip was well worth all of the stress. But once you arrive, the real question remains: How do I keep my stress to a minimum while in the parks?
"Although the Disney parks are considered to be the most magical places on Earth, there is a certain amount of stress that will always come with planning different aspects of your trip, but luckily there are several things that you can do prior to your arrival in the parks which will help keep your stress to a minimum." <<-- Click to Share on Twitter"

Download the "My Disney Experience" App

In an effort to create a stress free and magical experience for their guests, Disney has released a free app for mobile which allows you to plan out aspects of your day, order food, check up on ride times, and jump in line for newer rides with online cues.

The aspect of the Disney World app which will prove to be the most useful throughout the duration of your trip will be the map feature.
This feature provides both a useful map of whichever park you will be spending you time in that day as well as a list of whichever category of resource you may be looking for, whether it be dining, shops, transportation or rides in the park. This resource can help cut stress from your day by allowing you to easily navigate the parks.
On top of navigation through the parks, this feature will give you information on the different rides throughout each park, including frequently updated  wait times and current operation status of every ride.
By using this app throughout your trip, you will save yourself time by knowing where and when to be at different times of the day.

Download the "My Disney Experience" app before getting to the park! Talk with your party about their Disney park priorities and use the app to map out your schedule. Keep an eye on the app in case you choose to shake things up and enjoy a truly magical experience! For further information on the app, visit the Walt Disney World website (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/mobile-apps/).

Discuss Priorities with Your Party

Everybody enjoys a vacation where things constantly go according to plan; however, when a group/party fails to prioritize and plan activities ahead of time, it can feel like you've wasted much of your vacation with tedious decision making conversations. When decisions are made ahead of time, you will feel much more confident in your day, and this applies to all vacations.
So how do you effectively plan with your party?
  •         Sit down to a formal meeting
By organizing a formal meeting with your party, you will be able to better communicate and discuss each individual's wants and priorities for each day's activities in the parks. You'll be able to walk into the park knowing what specific attractions will need to be hit in order to satisfy everyone's needs.
  •         Plan your day together
Now that you know which attractions each person wants to go to the most, you can use your "My Disney Experience" app park map to decided which attractions or park areas you will go to and what order will they be in as you make your way through the park. Make sure to plan for any food or shops you may want to go to as well. By planning, you'll all have a good idea of where you'll go and when you'll go to each area of the park, which will keep your stress and unnecessary decision making conversations to a minimum.
  •         Write it down
Once you've made a plan of your day, write it down. There will always be at least one person who will fail to remember what comes next, and won't agree with someone else's idea. Writing down your plan of the day will help keep contention to a minimum and keep the magic of the park alive for the whole group.

Before you go, sit down with your party and really map out each one of your days at Walt Disney World. This daily plan will allow for a more structured and stress free trip to the Disney parks. You will come out of each day knowing that you have achieved all that you wanted to and that you've made the absolute most of your Disney Experience.
Remember that if there is a preparation technique, which your party is using, that creates more misery than relief, than it isn't necessary. According to Editor Robert Niles from the Theme Park Insider blog, there is not preparation for a vacation that is worth being miserable for. Vacation is about relaxation and enjoyment, so you should try to enjoy every aspect. (https://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201807/6199/).

Enjoy your vacation and have a magical day!
