What Is There To Do?
Being the first of the Walt Disney World theme parks to open, in 1971, the Magic Kingdom has a more diverse theme as opposed to the three other parks. In comparison to Epcot's theme of national celebration, Animal Kingdom's theme of nature and Hollywood Studio's theme of cinematic franchises, the Magic Kingdom was built to be a park which covered all aspects of Walt Disney and his creations. Without these other parks being built, no specific movie theme or idea belonged in any other parks. This led to the creation of different "lands" across the area.
The Magic Kingdom consists of six primary lands within it's walls, including Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Main Street U.S.A., Liberty Square and Fantasyland. Each respected land is filled with rides and attractions that bring a certain magic to the park. From rides based off of popular Disney movies, like Peter Pan, to rides that reflect Walt Disney's vision of the future, like the Carousal of Progress, the Magic Kingdom provides plenty in terms of fun and excitement. Explore each different land during your visit and you'll begin to understand the true magic of the Magic Kingdom.
Rides:
As of May, 2021, Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom had 41 operational attractions and counting. With such a high ride count, we're only going to focus on one specific ride from each of the six lands.

When it comes to Disney, they love their mountain theme roller coasters! One of the most well know coasters in Disney World is Space Mountain, which is located in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom. On this adventurous ride, the park guest will get to embark on an expedition through space with 2 crew-mates. As You fly through space in a personal rocket ship, you'll make you way through meteor showers, past planets and through the wonders of the cosmos in order to experience the true wonders of space.
Going forward with the Disney mountain themed attractions, Frontierland is currently the home to two of Disney's famous mountains: Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. As you embark on your riverboat adventure in splash mountain, enjoy an adventure that follows the story of the late, and infamous, movie, "Song of the South." Enjoy your adventure as you embark on a personal tour of the bayou and watch Brer Rabbit outsmart the wits of Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Be careful with what you bring with you though. With a name like Splash Mountain, you and everything brought along are sure to get wet. On Big Thunder Mountain, get ready to embark on a train ride unlike any before. As you ride, you'll find yourself touring the mountain and the mines, which are used by many famous prospectors. Although the ride is fun, be careful! You are indeed preparing to ride what they call "the wildest ride in the wilderness."
As we pass through Frontierland into Adventureland, the rides seem to calm down a little, but don't worry. The fun stays the same! In Adventureland, you'll find yourself faced with many Caribbean and jungle style adventures, to say the least. One of the top attractions in this area is the Jungle Cruise, which takes all willing guests on a tour of the most treacherous rivers of the Jungle. This ride, when originally created, was meant to be more of an educational ride than others; however, over time became a more humorous and gag filled ride, which later inspired the recent Disney Studios release of the Jungle Cruise movie. This ride is fun, adventurous, and full of excitement. It's definitely not one that you can miss!
As you leave Adventureland, you'll find yourself back in the area called Main Street U.S.A. Although this area of the park doesn't have quite the number of rides that that others do, there is one thing in particular that stands out to guests before they even enter the park: the train. In the front of this area, you'll find a railroad station which houses the famous Walt Disney World Railroad. Although this ride isn't as exciting or fast paced as others in the park, the Railroad provides guests with a great opportunity to relax and enjoy a wonderful view of the different sections of the Magic Kingdom.
After riding the train to the other end of the park, your next stop will want to be Liberty Square! In this section, you'll find a wonderful and patriotic area, filled with many sights such as replicas of the Liberty Bell and the Liberty Tree. In this area there are several attractions; however, the one which has proven to be the most popular since it's upbringing has been the Haunted Mansion. On this ride, guests have the privilege of touring this haunted sight and meeting some of it's long term occupants. Enjoy your ride through the mansion but be aware of your surroundings. You don't want to end up bringing any "Hitchhiking Ghosts" home with you!
After a scare that might come from an attraction like the Haunted Mansion, the best area of the park to end off with is the one which is filled with imagination and excitement. Fantasyland is the home of many movie-based rides, which are great to visit if you have small kids. In this area, you'll find cute attractions based on many of Walt Disney's original films such as Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, or Peter Pan. Even with all of these lovely movie-based rides, the one ride that you can't pass up doesn't revolve around the movies. The ride, "It's A Small World" has a theme that is more fitting of that of Epcot. It teaches guests of the importance of unity around the globe. This cute boat ride lets it's guests experience different cultures throughout the world and the catchy tune is one that you won't stop singing for days. Although it may seem silly, this ride is always a good way to end off your day at the Magic Kingdom.
Even though other rides didn't make my list, there are so many more in this park that are worth while to visit! For a full list of rides in the Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, visit https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/magic-kingdom/
Events
Throughout the year, like many of the other Walt Disney World theme parks, the Magic Kingdom hold special events for any guests who choose to pay the admissions fees for attendance. The main events that occur in the Magic Kingdom are those related to holidays, primarily Halloween and Christmas.
As summer comes to a close every year, the Magic Kingdom begins to transform into a spooky and festive place. Beginning in mid-August, and lasting until the end of the night on October 31, the Magic Kingdom is decked out in Halloween decorations and begins selling tickets to it's spooky celebration, Disney's After Hours Boo Bash. This event includes activities such as trick-or-treat, extra time to ride rides for the day and special Halloween themed snacks. This spooky party is anything but scary and keeps the magic alive after hours.
As soon as the Halloween season has ended, Walt Disney World employees quickly pack up the spooky decorations and set up for the festivities that revolve around Christmas and other winter holidays. From November through December, the Magic Kingdom plays the host to Disney's Very Merriest After Hours Event. This event includes extra perks such as extra time in the park, special holiday entertainment by Disney characters and cast members and special holiday treats.
