What You Should Know Before Your Trip

Whenever you're planning a trip or vacation for the very first time, it can be hard to figure out what kind of things are important to know about prior to the trip. When it comes to planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida, these few need to know things could change your trip experience entirely! On this page, you'll find just a few of the key concepts that you'll need to know before you take off on the most magical trip of a lifetime.

1. Have a plan in place

As it is outlined in my previous blog post, "Pro Tip: Plan Your Day In The Disney Parks Prior To Arrival!", having a plan established for your trip is one of the best ways for you to enjoy a more relaxing and stress free vacation at Walt Disney World. Despite the Disney Parks being considered the most magical places on Earth, there will always be a certain amount of stress that is involved in your trips. Planning your days in the parks can surely lead to a more enjoyable time for you and your whole party.

My previous blog post also outlines the benefit of using the "My Disney Experience" app to help you navigate the park and see how long you might be waiting for each specific attraction. You can read more about how to set your plan here: https://clauserm320.blogspot.com/2021/10/pro-tip-plan-your-day-in-disney-parks.html

Another great way to get started on your Disney planning is to invest in the purchase of the current issue of the Walt Disney World Guidebook. This book will give you information on the parks regarding the current year's events, restaurants, rides and more. You can find these guidebooks on Amazon for $20 or less!

2. Research what kind of rides your party can or want to go on

If you know anything about the Walt Disney World Resort, or any kind of theme park for that matter, you will know that the entire experience revolves around two things: the theme and the attractions.

The tricky thing with these kinds of family trips is finding attractions and park themes that the whole family can experience and enjoy. With this knowledge, you'll want to do some research to figure out which parks have attractions that are best suited for your party and which parks have the most attractions available to you as well.

As I mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, "many of these rides and attractions are established in the family friendly fashion that is intended: meaning there are no height requirements!" If you are traveling with young children, knowing this information about ride requirements can make or break your trip. 3. Be aware of any magical events that could be happening at the time of your trip

Depending on your specific ideas of a perfect Disney trip, you may want to either attend certain events or avoid them.

Walt Disney World is known for hosting park-wide events all year round, ranging from flower festivals to Halloween parties. No matter what time you plan your trip, there will almost always be some sort of event during your trip. Look up these events and see if they would interest you or your party! Even though admission to these events could be a little pricier than you'd imagine, these are experiences that you can only have in the magical world created by the Disney Parks.

Look at what possibilities could present themselves at the time of your trip and consider the chance to join Mickey and friends as they celebrate all year round!

4. Find out about any extra fun things to do around the Resorts and parks

The Walt Disney World Resorts and theme parks take pride in their ability to entertain their guests, both inside and outside of the parks. With this goal in mind, they have created many different opportunities for guests to continue experiencing the magic of the parks without being on the attractions.

Some of these fun activities, which the Resort has to offer their guests, include pin trading, searching for hidden Mickey's or simply exploring the Walt Disney Resort hotels. Each of these bonus activities proves to be extremely entertaining in your down time.

With the availability of pins to purchase throughout the parks, it seems only fair that the parks provide something for the guests to do with them. As you move throughout the parks, resorts, and other locations on Disney property, you will find select locations where cast members have pins of their own to trade with any guest who sees a pin that they like. Similarly, as you move around the Disney locations, you'll have many chances to spot hidden Mickey heads hidden in the scenery. They're tricky to spot, so make sure to keep track of how many you've found! The Disney resorts add a little bit of extra magic, if you get the chance to explore them. With every one of them having a separate theme of its own, you never know what the rooms or buildings may be decorated with.

5. Constantly be on the lookout of new information on the Disney Parks

Nobody ever has all of the information that you may want, so always make sure to ask questions when you have something you would like to know about. The Walt Disney World theme parks are constantly changing and expanding, so make sure that you are constantly expanding your own personal knowledge as well!

Overall, make sure that you are always open to more information. With a magical place like Disney World, you'll never know what sort of surprises are waiting to be discovered. Get ready! Get excited! And Have a magical trip!
