When To Go:
It's no question as to why you may want to figure out when the best time to go to Walt Disney World is. After all, isn't the goal of any vacation to have a fun and relaxing time where you can enjoy the most possible in the span of time that you have?
According to undercover tourist, the park schedule of the Walt Disney theme parks has "historically fallen along school schedules" (https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/best-time-to-visit-disney-world/). This is one thing that could shape your decision; however, it is still possible to have a magical vacation no matter what time of the year you go. That being said, here are my ideas on some of the best times to go to Disney World.
Mid-November through December
The Christmas season has always been known to be the most wonderful time of the year and Walt Disney World bring this idea back into light every single year by transforming their parks into a winter wonderland! The parks may be slightly crowded depending on the week, but the special events that are available to be attended far outweigh the guest count. Even though this is a popular time of the year to attend the parks, you can still avoid extremely heavy crowds by booking your stay during the weekdays, while most kids are in school.

As magical as the Christmas season is, some people may seem to have a hard time deciding whether they will go to Walt Disney World for their Halloween event or their Christmas event. The easy solution to this is to go over the last week of October into the first week of November. In this week, Walt Disney World goes through a one night change in decor, which completely changes the theme of the park from spooky to magical. Although this time of year can be crowded, the magic that Disney promises is still there!
September
Being located in Orlando, Florida, you can imagine that Walt Disney World will be rather hot around the Summer months. This being said, the month of September will quite warm; however, this is also the month in which students are going back to school. Most families tend to get their vacations out of the way during the months where their kids have Summer vacation (June-August), meaning that once you hit September, the crowds will be limited. The Park will generally be set up for Halloween/Fall at this time, so you won't feel like your missing out too much when it comes to their magical times of the year. Make the best of this advantage and don't be afraid of the heat ruining a truly magical trip.
When Not To Go:
As many events as Disney World does have, there are some who really prefer to skip the events to visit the parks when the crowds are low. This is a completely reasonable and respectable point of view! After all, vacation is about relaxing and enjoying your time off of work, school, etc.
According to the popular blog site, mousesavers.com, Some of the worst times to visit the parks are the weeks in which schools are out on break (https://www.mousesavers.com/walt-disney-world-vacation-discounts-and-deals/frequently-asked-questions-about-walt-disney-world/). These are the weeks in which working parents take their kids to the parks since both have the ability to take off and miss little work in the process. There are many of these breaks throughout the year, but here are a couple of the hardest times to go.
Week's Surrounding Easter
The popularity of the Disney parks during these few weeks has little to do with the holiday, and much more to do with school schedules around it. Most schools, whether they be grade schools or colleges, give their students off on the weeks surrounding Easter as a spring break. This, as mentioned above, leads to increased crowds of students and families taking a trip in between schooling to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Midsummer Months
The main reason to not visit the Disney parks between the months of August and June is very similar to that of Easter. As mentioned above, these Summer months revolve around students who have off of school for several months in a row in order to recharge their brains for the next year. And who wouldn't want to spend their recharge time with Mickey and Friends. Although these months are scorching when it comes to the weather, it doesn't seem to be enough to keep the crowds away, especially with Walt Disney World events such as Star Wars Weekend, The Food and Wine Festival, and the Flower Festival all taking place in those months. Just because the crowds are big doesn't mean you shouldn't go; however, if you prefer less crowds to big events, these are months that you'll want to avoid.
Before you decide when to plan your trip to the Walt Disney World Resorts in Florida, make sure you are aware of all events and possibilities there are within the year and what you prefer: Less crowds or more magic. By doing your research and deciding on what time of the year fits you best, you'll most certainly be able to plan an excellent trip for the family! Don't be discouraged if you have to plan a trip over a busier time of year. The magic will still be there! You'll just need to plan accordingly!
Enjoy your vacation and have a magical day!
